hey, i have a dream to be a landscape photographer and I use a 12.1 megapixel point and shoot right now and an old 35mm. What should my fist big step into the digital slr world be?
Any new DSLR has sufficient quality these days. Canon and Nikon still seem to be slightly ahead of the curve regarding new features. The top of the line cameras are really only necessary if you need something more rugged or you need their faster auto-focus and frames per second features (and you can afford them!) Otherwise, I’d recommend getting a less-expensive body and using your budget for acquiring quality lenses.

Hey distanceman: I’m not sure I’ll be around on the exact days the bridge comes down, but someone has set up a webcam where you can watch it. http://www.portsmouthwebcam.com/index.php/memorial-bridge/
